Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access Points > Option > New Access Point

. Connection Name : Safaricom 3G
. Data Bearer : Data Packet
. APN : safaricom
. Username : saf
. Prompt Password : no
. Password : data
. Authentication : Normal
. Homepage : “add preferred home page”

Go back to Connection > Data Packet > Data Packet Connection > Select When Needed.
Below Data Packet connection is Access Point > safaricom

Then use this connection for internet connectivity for email and web browsing.

 

SAFARICOM MMS (MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING SERVICES)
(This service charged at Kshs 3.50 for every 100 Kilobytes to Safaricom subscribers and Kshs 8 to other local networks. Maximum MMS size is 300 Kilobytes.)

Menu >Tools>Settings > Connection > Access Points > Select Options > New Access Point > Use Default Settings OR select one of the options

. APN : safaricom
. Username saf
. Prompt Password : No
. Password : data
. Authentication : Normal
. Homepage : http://mms.gprs.safaricom.com

Click on Options > Advanced Settings

. Phone IP Address : Automatic
. Primary Name Server : 000.000.000.000
. Secondary Name Server : 000.000.000.000
. Proxy Server Address : 172.022.002.038
. Proxy Port Number : 8080

 

Go back to Connection > GPRS > GPRS Connection > Select when Needed.
Below GPRS connection is Access Point > safaricom

Messaging > Options > Settings > Multi Media Message

. Access Point in Use : safaricom
. Multi Media Reception : Always On
. On Receiving Message : Retrieve Immediately
. Allow Anonymous Messages : No
. Receive adverts : NO
. Receive Reports : Yes
. Deny Report Sending : Yes
. Message Validity : Maximum
